John Ackerly
John Ackerly was President of The International Campaign for Tibet for ten years and now serves on its Board of Directors.  John first went to Tibet as a mountaineer in 1987.  He has been a strong supporter of the Tibetan community, both inside Tibet and in the international diaspora.

Algienne Amrita
Algienne Amrita is the founder of Ohana Maitreya. She has worked for many years to develop projects in Himachal Pradesh. Algienne spends her time in Colorado, on ‘the farm” on Kauai, and in Himachal Pradesh.

Lucy Jarvis - Advisory Council Chair
Lucy Jarvis is a well-known and successful television producer. As a founder of the International Women’s Forum and other related women’s organizations she is an inspiration to many women world-wide. Lucy is tireless in her dedication to the betterment of our world. She was recently designated a “Giant in Broadcasting” by the Library of American Broadcasting. She is the mother of Barbara Jarvis.

Robin Mazor - Advisory Council
Ms. Mazor’s career achievements include the development and running of a children’s museum, an elementary school, and a women and children’s shelter.  Robin is the president of Tara Sangha Buddhist Center. A member of the international women's organization Sakyadhita and Board Trustee of Jamyang Choling, she actively supports the advancement of women and girls worldwide, especially in the Himalayas and the Hawaiian Islands. Robin lives on the Hawaiian island of Kauai.

Shelly Draper-Luchini - Advisory Council
Shelly Draper-Luchini became deeply interested in the nuns of Tibetan Buddhism through her work with Ohana Maitreya. She has been acting secretary since its inception. She resides in the mountains of Colorado with her husband, daughter, and two cats.

Michael Carr - Advisory Council
Michael Carr has a PhD in Asian languages and linguistics. He and his wife Terry studied and taught in Asia for two decades, and currently live in Hawaii. They both are interested in Buddhism and support the Ohana Maitreya Fund.
